My name is Dave Clark, and I’m a hoarder.
Always have been, but never wanted to be.
I also have a passion for furniture and for Scandinavian design. The only trouble with that is, Scandinavian furniture employs a sense of minimalism and simplicity. And when you’re a hoarder, you never have room for that…
This all came about in 2013 when I had no money (still don’t), but fell in love with Danish designer furniture. This passion for furniture and design drove me to use what I had in my hand as I embarked on the adventure of The Treasury.
But you might ask, ‘what is The Treasury?’
It’s simple, really. I take trash and turn it into treasure. Boring, mundane items that were once valueless find a new story and a new purpose.
Each piece is hand crafted, or lovingly restored into something unique, rare and hopefully transcendent of the status quo.
So with the few tools I’ve collected over the years (I hoard them as well) and a city that loves to throw away last year’s fashion – I set about making one-off pieces that I would want to have in my own home.
And hopefully you will, too.
